Frank Rodà (CEO)
Frank Rodà is one of the two founders and managing directors of soluzione.
As a systems theorist and virtual reality pioneer, he brings 10 years of professional experience in the aerospace sector. Despite his exciting work, in 1998 his courage prevailed to develop his own company and infect others with his tangible passion.

As a competitive rower, he understands the challenge of pushing himself to his limits and isn’t afraid to compete with others. Thanks to his Italian roots, he also has a zest for life and a sense of humor. He values the values and support he receives from his family particularly highly. This makes him a passionate team player who cultivates a professional approach to others and understands how to both take on and share responsibility.

Bastian Ziegler (CEO)
The second founder and managing director, a particularly dynamic and convincing individual, completes the dual leadership of soluzione. Bastian Ziegler’s diversity is evident in his choice of degree programs (opera singing and business administration), and he has even set a world record as a radio presenter. He implemented his first business model while still a student. A key experience for his own company was the implementation of the LiMuX learning world for 10,000 employees at the City of Munich in 2006.

Athletics also plays a major role for him. Just as he improves his performance through training, he relies on perseverance at soluzione to tackle unpopular, sometimes difficult topics. His intensive vocal studies have not only prepared him to perform in front of large audiences, but also to respond openly to direct feedback.

Tim Ziegler (CSO)
As Sales Director, Tim Ziegler always keeps his ear to the ground to respond to changes in eLearning and performance support.
Tim Ziegler came to soluzione through his brother, and he developed a desire to rethink the “Change to Modern Work” with sustainable training strategies and to promote it in the market.
Previously, he held various positions and countries responsible for various hotel chains. He has built up extensive expertise in business development and partner management, which he now successfully applies at soluzione.
“I’m bringing soluzione to the world with absolute conviction, as we’ve already proven thousands of times that our sustainable training strategy works, and entire companies have achieved the desired software penetration and are now working internationally collaboratively, more efficiently, and more productively with M365.”
As an avid runner and road cyclist, he knows that consistency and perseverance are important parameters for achieving goals. Physical fitness is just like digital fitness – you have to train continuously to maintain your level.

The development of soluzione is inextricably linked to the accelerated transformation of everyday working life toward the modern workplace.
Bastian Ziegler and Frank Rodà are the founders of soluzione. Here they share their story:
Online training and e-learning are now commonplace – but in 2000, they barely existed on the German market. We came together back then because Frank had been running soluzione Trainings GmbH for some time, which specialized in in-person training for Microsoft. Our idea was to offer training online as well. Together, we further developed the concept: innovative, modern knowledge transfer and employee qualification around Microsoft applications – online and on the computer.
As the newly founded soluzione Script GmbH, we focused on new methods of skills development and developed our own learning platform: soluzione42 (the 42 as a reference to Douglas Adams’ “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”). In 2004, as part of a research collaboration with the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the University of Karlsruhe (FZI), we began an intensive exploration of computer-assisted learning. Based on pedagogical guidelines, we created the world’s largest library on Microsoft Office with multiple learning approaches: learning videos, quick references, click videos, and transition guides. This is how we positioned ourselves as the leading e-learning provider on the market. In the words of Douglas Adams, we offer the answer to almost every question. Our efforts have been rewarded with several awards: the European E-Learning Award “EurEleA” (2007), “E-Learning Provider of the Year 2019,” and the “Enterprise Workspace Award” (2019).
After this development phase, Daimler AG commissioned us with a new, major requirement: to produce learning content in eight languages, including Asian languages. We had to decide: should we accept this new challenge? The answer was yes! We firmly believed in the future of our concept. So, the team was expanded to include many new international employees, who still define the diverse character of soluzione today. From then on, soluzione42 was able to produce its learning content in Spanish, Portuguese, French, Dutch, Chinese, and Japanese in addition to German and English.
By now, soluzione42 had established itself as a provider that reliably delivers new learning content for most Microsoft applications – whenever there was a Microsoft update. With the introduction of Evergreen IT for Microsoft 365, things suddenly changed: ongoing, sometimes unannounced updates. How could we as a company cope and continue to provide our customers with up-to-date learning content on time?
As it turned out, our customers had the same problem: employees, HR, and IT support were overwhelmed by the constant updates. That’s when we discovered an opportunity. We accelerated our production cycles and focused on offering a true performance support tool: with up-to-date content, an app that accompanies end users through their daily work – always accessible for support questions, and with fresh “What’s New?” videos.
In 2020, the entire world changed dramatically due to the pandemic, and digital working experienced a rapid upswing. Virtually all employees were forced to use online tools like Microsoft Teams or Office Online while working from home. At the same time, they were left to their own devices when it came to the technology: Support staff only had virtual access to their PCs, and in-person training sessions were canceled entirely. We recognized this situation and produced use cases and entire courses on the topics of “working from home” and “virtual meetings” – including ones specifically for teachers and students.
The past has shown how important it is to remain adaptable. To keep pace with the enormous changes in the world of work, we expanded soluzione by building a consulting team and launching subscription services. We now offer our customers a tailor-made partnership by combining consulting, training, and e-learning.
At the same time, we continuously strengthened our expertise in the modern digital workplace. We are intensively focusing on how employees can become comprehensively and sustainably digitally fit: so that New Work and change management succeed. With HanseSecure and Next Action Partners, we have been able to gain strong partners and explore new areas such as security awareness, phishing simulations (with a report button in Outlook), and self-management. We have also expanded our portfolio to include artificial intelligence and data literacy.
